EOY 2014: What to expect

We are less then a month away from Events Of the Year 2014, one of the largest cosplay event in Singapore. This year due to the fact that Marina Barrage will be closed for renovations works the event is being push forward to the 2nd & 3rd of August. Also for this year, EOY will be a 2 days event instead of the 1 day event.
We are also proud to be the official media for the Festival this year.



Guest Nico Nico Dancers

マリス (Marisu), who also goes by the stage name Marice,  has performed at the popular Nico Nico Cho Party & Nico Nico Dance Masters in Japan. She does frequent collaborations with other Niconico dancers, namely Norakura (のらくら), Penta (足太ぺんた) and Kozue (愛川こずえ). She released her first solo dance “galaxias!” on 22 December 2011. The dance was choreographed by Yumiko, and first performed by Danceroid.

足太ぺんた (Asibuto Penta), better known as Penta, is the second guest artiste at EOY 2014!

Despite her young age, Penta has racked up an impressive portfolio of dances. At the tender age of 13, she uploaded her first dance, a dance cover for “Hare Hare Yukai” in 2009 and has continued to garner many fans as she continues to showcase her talent on her video channels. One of the most popular and well-known Odorite (dancers who upload their dance videos on Nico Nico Douga), she has appeared at various live performances and dance events such as Nico Nago, Nico Nico Cho Party, Nico Nico Dance Masters, No Odottemita No Life, FM360°, GEEK P@RK and T-Flow.

Penta Asibuto and Marisu (Marice) will be performing on 2-3 August in EOY Cosplay Festival 2014, presented by ST Classifieds.

They have two sets of performances on both days, at approximately 2:30pm and 4:20pm. Look forward to both solo and duet performances, and a surprise!

Penta has also released the merchandise that will be on sale during EOY! She will be bringing over wristbands, badges, towels and shirts. Cheki will also be available during event!

Autograph / Meet and Greet sessions take place after the first set of performance on both days, at the info counter beside the stage. Official merchandise will also be on sale on event days.

ICDS is one of Singapore’s most well-known fan-driven cosplay & pop-culture convention. In its third year, it is held at *SCAPE in Orchard Road on 24 August 2014.

It features internationally acclaimed guest of honors Kamui, one of the world’s few professional cosplayers and costume makers, Dat-Baka Cosplay, an Australian-based cosplayer best known for portraying characters from iconic fandoms and critically acclaimed photographer Jay Tablante who has collaborated with D.C. and Marvel to produce some of the most iconic and daring images in comic book cosplay of all time.

Other regular attractions include  a scavenger hunt ConQuest, Cosplay Talent Showcase, Cosplay Runway and the long-time favourite Cosplay Chess. More details can be found on ICDS’ official website.
